My Style: Bohemian Rhapsody

Today's Look: was taken in beautiful Old Town Scottsdale on a humid, 102 degree afternoon.  Yes, I wilted.  Literally.  Northern Arizona is not nearly as hot as "The Valley" during the summer months, so I'm not acclimated to real heat.  Lucky for me, I received a lovely embellished chevron striped romper from Charlotte Russe that was perfect for a warm summer day. To give a more bohemian styling, which you know I love, I added a soft, extra-long jersey cardigan from SirenLondon.  SirenLondon is an e-retailer with headquarters located in Warwickshire, England.  Specializing in indie, vintage-style, hand-selected clothing,  they have an eye for trends and a great selection of what's current.  I definitely recommend checking them out!  To add more boho flare, I selected a pretty gold and black beaded hair-jewelry clip by artist Semira Mustafic, creator of Hair Floaters, black sling-back booties, various artistic rings, gold earrings, and a cuff bracelet.  Hope you're all staying cool this summer.  Xoxo, Shelly

Fashion Tip:  Long, black cardigans have a super power of being not only a stylish piece in any closet, but also being very flattering to a woman's curves.  I had been looking for one for awhile when I found this beauty.  The Long Tall Whisper Cardigan from SirenLondon could not be more perfect!

My Style: Polka Dots & Chevron

Today's Look:  is all about a flirty, dotted chevron shift dress made of micro-satin.  Spring is definitely the season to wear fun dresses that flow, swirl, and attract.  This little gem is the perfect spring staple.  To complement the black polka-dotted, chevron print, I styled the dress with a black belt that has sparkly crystal embellishments.  The shoes are my one indulgent purchase for this photo shoot; how can a girl resist block heel sandals with ankle straps?  Literally impossible!  Besides feminine, flirty dresses and strappy sandals, spring is represented to me by two types of flowers--tulips and daffodils.  If you look carefully, you can see some of them peeking out in the background.  I couldn't resist showing off how beautiful the neighborhood looks in my recent photoshoots.  I hope you’re loving the season whatever it may be for you right now :) Xoxo, Shelly

Fashion Tip:  Adding a thin waist-belt to a simple shift dress not only adds a personal touch, but it also compliments the feminine figure.

My Style: Walk Like an Egyptian

Today's Look:  emphasizes the bright gold of an Egyptian-motif top and edgy, shredded skinny jeans.  First, I chose the sweatshirt for light warmth on a sunny winter day and black jeans.  Next, I chose black, strappy cut-out ankle boots, and gold rimmed aviators.  Finishing off the look and to bring attention to the gold detailing on the top, I wore a gold watch, gold bedazzled bracelet, two gold rings, and gold pyramid-shaped earrings.

Outfit Details:  Top and Earrings courtesy of Charlotte Russe , Jeans by Bullhead Denim Co. at pacsun.com, Boots by Mossimo Supply Co. at Target (Prescott, Arizona), Purse at Sage Brush Trading Co. (Flagstaff, Arizona), Watch, Skulls Ring, & Gold Ring from Charming Charlie (Tucson, Arizona), Bracelet at Kohl's (Prescott, Arizona), Sunglasses at Black Hound Gallerie (Flagstaff, Arizona).

Fashion Tip:  Ripped and shredded jeans add a cool, grunge vibe to any outfit.  The distressed detailing makes a look more casual and edgy.

My Style: White Christmas

Today's Look:  creates bold contrast using the most famous opposites, black and white.  It was a chilly, overcast day, so I first chose a peacoat with white and gold detailing.  The coat is soft and cozy, along with being flattering and feminine.  Next, I chose black jeggings, black socks, and black ankle boots featuring a buckle embellishment.  To accessorize, I chose white/gold bracelet, gold bedazzled watch, gold hoop earrings, black/gold funky sunglasses (cat-eye frame with gold rimmed circular lenses), and two rings.  Last but not least, I wore an oversized, black purse to match the boots and complete the look.

Outfit Details:  Coat c/o Charlotte Russe , Jeggings by Hue at Dillard's (Prescott, Arizona), Boots by Steve Madden from 6pm.com, Purse from Sage Brush Trading Co. (Flagstaff, Arizona), Sunglasses from Black Hound Gallerie (Flagstaff, Arizona), Earrings at Macy's (San Antonio, Texas), Bracelet from Charlotte Russe (Scottsdale, Arizona), Watch from Charming Charlie (Tucson, Arizona), Rings from Premiere Designs.

Fashion Tip:  Peacoats are great for the fall and winter seasons.  The styles and colors can range from looking hipster to chic.  A white peacoat is always classy and stands out.

My Style: Femme Fatale

Today's Look:  is all about being feminine yet fierce.  This outfit contrasts a dark black top, clean white skinny jeans, and bold gold flourishes.   To start the look off, I chose the long-sleeve, black top featuring the words "FEMME FATALE, LOVE POTION N◦9."  For those who don't know, the term femme fatale refers to an old literature/art archetype known for being a mysterious, desirable woman who seduces men into dangerous and sometimes deadly situations.  Obviously, I don't think of myself as a femme fatale, but it sure is fun to rock the edgy top.  To match the top, I chose tall, heeled boots that have a fierce black-with-gold-buckle design.  Since the top and boots make a sexy pair, I wanted light pants to contrast and add a special pop to the outfit.  I chose white skinny jeans.  To add a touch of the wild side, I wore a  gold necklace with a bedazzled, jaguar pendant.  Finishing off the look, I wore two gold and black bracelets, two rings, and black, stud earrings

Outfit Details:  Top & Boots c/o Charlotte Russe ,  Jeans by Miss Me at Dillard's (Prescott, Arizona), Purse from Sage Brush Trading Co. (Flagstaff, Arizona), Necklace from Charming Charlie (Tucson, Arizona), Earrings from Aeropostale (Tucson, Arizona), Spiked Bracelet at urbanog.com, Bangle Bracelet at Kohl's (Prescott, Arizona), Rings from Premiere Jewelry Designs.

Fashion Tip:  Tall heeled boots are a sexy fall essential.  They work great with skinny jeans, scarves, and peacoats.

My Style: Never Growing Up

Today's Look:  is tomboy chic, featuring leopard-print, platform boots and a baggy beanie.  In honor of one my favorite tomboys, Avril Lavigne, I titled this post after her hit song "Here's to Never Growing Up."  To start the look off, I chose the shoes.  These shoes are crazy wild and I absolutely love them for their unique cut and sexy animal print.  Next, I chose light blue, skinny jeans and a flowy, black top.  I liked how the light blue acted as a complimentary color with the tans, oranges, black, and browns of the shoe.  To match the coloring of the shoes, I chose a baggy, beige beanie to add casual hipster into the mix.  Finishing off the look, I wore an over-sized, black purse, a cross pendant necklace, a studded bracelet, and two rings.

Outfit Details:  Platform boots c/o Charlotte Russe , Top by Lani California at Sage Brush Trading Co. (Flagstaff, Arizona), Jeans from Express (Scottsdale, Arizona), Beanie by D&Y from Basement Marketplace (Flagstaff, Arizona), Purse at Sage Brush and Company, Necklace from Forever 21 (Scottsdale, Arizona), Earrings by Wet Seal at Blink (Anaheim, California), Rings from Premiere Designs Jewelry, Bracelet was a gift.

Fashion Tip:  Beige beanies are a fall and winter fashion essential.
