My Style: Paint It Black

Today's Look:  channels the dark, grunge style of rock-in-roll.  This outfit is perfect for a wild night out on the town or going to a concert.  First, I chose the top.  I have been wanting a Rolling Stones top for awhile now but I kept finding sweatshirts, so when I found this sparkle-studded tank, I was thrilled!  The tank is long and loose, so I wore a black sports bra underneath for modesty.  Next, I chose the faux leather leggings and jacket.  I say, if you're going punk, go all the way.  Keeping the look mostly black, I wore platform, ankle boots and slapped on some eyeshadow for drama.  Finishing off the look, I wore a spiked necklace, black stud earrings, red lipstick, and two rings.

Fashion Tip:  Black is always a great choice for any outfit, day or night.  It's sleek, cool, and always has a certain edge to it.  So, when in doubt, or unsure of what to wear, a black outfit is a chic go-to!

Style Crush Saturday: Olivia Palermo

This week's Style Crush is the stunning Olivia Palermo.  Olivia is a 27-year old American socialite and fashionista that came into the public's eye by starring on MTV's reality based TV show The City.  With a successful real estate developer for a father and an interior designer mother, Olivia attended expensive private schools and was named "the real Blair Waldorf" by her costars.  Born into the Upper East Side aristocracy, Olivia grew up going between New York and Connecticut.  Before starting her fashion career, Olivia attended The American University in Paris, France, but finished in New York City at The New School.  Following graduation, Olivia interned at Quest magazine, and then in public relations (PR) for Diane von Furstenberg.  In 2008, Olivia starred next to Whitney Port in The City, which followed their social and professional lives.  The show documented her job switch from PR for Diane von Furstenberg to accessories for Elle magazine.  She's not only worked for multiple magazines but also cover modeled for names such as Elle Mexico, Tatler, ASOS Magazine, Shop Til You Drop, and Marie Claire UK.

Although her life may seem like a fairy tale, Olivia had to work hard to make a name for herself and stay strong against rumors and jealousy.  After starring on the show and signing a modeling contract with Wilhelmina Model Agency in 2009, other New York socialites wanted a piece of the cake.  Living out a real-life Gossip Girl episode, Olivia went under attack from a New York social scene website.  Throughout the storm, Olivia stayed classy and, of course, well dressed.  Having the last laugh, Olivia became more popular than ever before.  Known for her impeccable street style and glamorous red carpet couture, Olivia is a through-and-through beauty queen/showstopper.  With Johannes Huebl, her model beau of 5 years, and now fiancé, by her side, Olivia travels the world to attend fashion shows, write fashion-related articles, and maintain her own website which features her outfits of the day, write-ups of her travels, sneak peeks of designers' upcoming lines, and much more.  She is one busy woman!  Personally, I admire her fashion sense, fearlessness, and grace.  No one can deny she's a total fashion guru.

Style Crush Saturday: Josh Hutcherson

This week's Style Crush is the handsome Josh Hutcherson.  Josh is an American actor who is best known for his role as the endearing Peeta in the blockbuster movie series The Hunger Games.  Since the age of 4, Josh knew he wanted to become an actor.  His family moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream, and by the age of 14, Josh had not only appeared in multiple TV shows and films but also had starring roles in motion pictures such as Little Manhattan, Zathura, and RV.  While becoming a child star, Josh was known for his cute face, sweet charm, and compelling acting skills.  Able to make audiences laugh and cry, he earned respect throughout the industry.  Continuing his success, Josh starred in the movies Bridge to Terabithia and Journey to the Center of the Earth (1 & 2).  It wasn't until 2012 that Josh scored the role of a lifetime, as the lovable and honorable Peeta Mellark in The Hunger Games, based on the best selling book series.  Josh instantly became a teen heartthrob and world renown celebrity.  Since then, Josh has traveled all around the world attending premieres, promoting the beloved saga, and starring in additional popular movies including Red Dawn, Epic (voice of Nod), and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

With the paparazzi and fans watching his every move, the pressure is on to look the part of a star.  Every movie premiere and award show is heavily photographed and televised, so Josh makes sure to always look fashionable.  From cute, boyish fashion to masculine, mature male chic, Josh's style has evolved and solidified.  Whether he is wearing designer suits or casual plaids, Josh is one stylish dude.  I'm not the only one that has noticed either.  His style, good looks, and charm have caught the attention of many of Hollywood's young ladies, including Zoey Deutch, Claudia Traisac, Vanessa Hudgens, Victoria Justice, and Selena Gomez.  Commended by his friends and even past girlfriends, Josh has a reputation of being a total sweetheart.  From the red carpet to downtown Los Angeles, Josh Hutcherson always looks dapper and delightful.  I don't know about you, but I am definitely team Peeta. ;)

My Style: Into the Woods

Today's Look:  is all about the "it" color mint and inspired by classy, east coast prepster style.  Mint has been a popular color all year long, but I think wearing a splash of mint is still fresh and unique this season.  To start the look off, I first chose the soft and cozy popcorn knit sweater and white skinny jeans.  Next, I chose the mint beaded, teardrop cluster necklace.  The necklace is chunky yet light and matched the sweater beautifully.  To contrast the bright white pants and light mint sweater, I chose tall, dark brown boots and a wool, charcoal peacoat.  Finishing off the look I wore white gloves, a white/gold bracelet, two rings, and gold stud earrings.

Style Crush Saturday: Adam Levine

This week's Style Crush is the seductive Adam Levine.  Adam Levine is an American singer, songwriter, and musician, who has become famous as the lead singer of the popular band Maroon 5.  Adam was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, attending the private Brentwood School, where he met Jesse Carmichael and Mickey Madden (two of his future bandmates).  While in high school, Adam formed a band, with his friends Jesse and Mickey, called Kara's Flowers.  After the release of their first (and only) record titled The Fourth World and not gaining much recognition, the band dissolved.  Finishing high school, Adam and Jesse moved to New York where they attended Five Towns College to study music.  Discontinuing his pursuit of further education after one semester, Adam headed back to L.A.  More confident in their direction and purpose, Adam and his friends met James Valentino, a talented guitarist, whom they initiated into the band, forming Maroon 5.  Maroon 5 not only gained mainstream recognition in the U.S., but it has also gained a popular following worldwide.  Their first record, inspired by Adam's then failed love life, titled Songs About Jane, shot them to rock-stardom with the album hitting Billboards Top 100 with hit singles like "She Will Be Loved", "Harder to Breathe", "This Love", and "Sunday Morning."  Maroon 5 has gone on to have a total of four platinum albums, including Songs About Jane,  It Won't Be Soon Before Long, Hands All Over, and Overexposed.  The band has won over 25 awards, including three Grammy Awards, three Billboard Music Awards, three American Music Awards, and two People's Choice Awards.

Although Adam is recognized for his musical talent, this year he has been dubbed "The Sexiest Man Alive of 2013" by People Magazine.  Ladies have a weakness for bad-boy rock stars wearing skinny jeans and tattoos.  Both have become Adam's trademark.  His arms and chest are covered in inked artwork which you can find by simply Googling his name.  In the past couple of years, Adam has branched out from being solely a musician to launching his own self-titled fragrance line, including scents for both men and women, being a judge on the The Voice, and starting his own record label, 222 Records.  Also, Adam is known for his infamous playboy ways or "modelizing" (like "womenizing" but exclusively with models) as I like to call it.  Adam has been linked to multiple supermodels, including a number of Victoria's Secret Angels.  Reformed and in love, Adam has decided to change his ways and settle down.  Adam became engaged to his VS model ladylove Behati Prinsloo this past July and can be seen cheering her on at this year's VS Runway show that airs this Tuesday, December 10, on CBS.  No one can deny, the dude is talented.  Expect only bigger and better in the future from Adam and congrats to the happy couple!

Style Crush Saturday: Chris Hemsworth

This week's Style Crush is the swoon-worthy Chris Hemsworth.  Chris is a 30-year old Australian actor who is best known for his role as "Thor" in the movies Thor, The Avengers, and Thor:  the Dark World.  He grew up moving between Bulman, Australia (very rural with buffalo and crocodiles), and Melbourne, Australia (second most populated city in Australia), with his brothers Luke and Liam.  You could say he has some rugged, outdoors-man in him as well as sophisticated, city-boy.  Best of both worlds.  At the age of 21, Chris auditioned for Home and Away, a hit Australian soap opera.  Although, he did not get the role he originally auditioned for, he ended up getting called back to join the cast as another lead role.  He went on to appear in 184 episodes before leaving to pursue a career in the United States.  He landed his first American film role in the 2009 Star Trek as James T. Kirk's father.  In 2011, after impressing the Hollywood scene with his good looks and talents, Chris scored the role of his lifetime as Thor (beating out numerous up-and-coming actors, including his younger brother, Liam).  Since then, he has gone on to star in blockbusters, such as The Cabin in the Woods, Snow White and the Huntsman, Red Dawn, and Rush.

In spite of a booming career, around-the-world fame, and an ever-growing fan base, Chris is a strong, loyal family man.  He met Spanish actress/model Elsa Pataky in early 2010 through mutual representation.  The two instantly hit it off and married that December.  The happy couple had their first daughter India Rose in May, 2012.  They just announced that they are 3 months pregnant with their second child. Chris is very content with his work, but he admits his best accomplishment thus far is definitely being a father.  On the subject of fatherhood, Chris said,  "Being a father is certainly a task. But the best one that I could ever ask for. Being home, being with the family, that's what it's about"  (Daily Mail Reporter).  As if being insanely handsome and incredibly talented wasn't enough...sigh.  Juggling his fast-paced career and loving family, Chris is a very busy man.  On the red carpet, he always looks dapper and well-dressed, while casual and cool on his downtime.  Definitely a guys' guy.  Whether he's flexing his muscles on screen, turning heads at premieres and awards shows, or making jaws drop while out and about, Chris Hemsworth is a total hunk.

This week's Style Crush is the alluring Miranda Kerr.  Miranda is an Australian supermodel who is best known for being a part of Victoria's Secret's Angels 2007-2013.  Miranda began her modeling career at the age of 13 when she won the 1997 nationwide model competition hosted by Dolly Magazine and Impulse fragrances.  Soon after, Miranda signed onto a major modeling agency, getting contracts, runway shows, campaigns, and exposure by modeling for companies such as Billabong, Levi's, Betsey Johnson, Neiman Marcus and many more.  Continuing her success, Miranda was featured in magazines such as Elle, Cosmopolitan, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, TV commercials for brands including Portmans, Bonds, and Veet, and made her U.S. debut through a lucrative cosmetic contract with Maybelline New York.  In 2007, Miranda was the first Australian model to become a Victoria's Secret Angel and the new face of PINK.  Along with a great paycheck, worldwide-viewed runway shows, and magazine features, Miranda gained fame.  Miranda continued to model for VS for 6 consecutive years, as well as modeling for Prada, Stella McCartney, Chanel, Christian Dior, and many more. 

Although she loves her career, Miranda has said that family is her life.  After nearly 3 years of dating each other, Miranda married Orlando Bloom in 2010.  Being a proud mother, Miranda was the first pregnant model ever to be featured on the cover of Vogue in Australia.  Miranda and Orlando welcomed their beautiful baby boy, Flynn, in January 2011.  Keep Miranda in your thoughts and prayers.  Just last month she and Orlando announced their separation and plan to end their marriage of 3 years.  Not letting her personal life stunt her career, Miranda is as gorgeous as ever and one of the most successful models of today.  In Forbe's 2013 list of highest paid models, Miranda was ranked #2 with a salary estimation of about $7.2 million.  From being in the fashion industry, Miranda has a rich style that is constantly admired.  She never looks bad, tired, or sloppy.  Her favorite accessories include chic sunglasses, over-sized purses, and designer heels.  Trademarked by her adorable dimples and clear blue eyes, it's impossible to say she isn't drop-dead gorgeous.  Whether she's modeling for a top fashion brand or walking around New York with her son, she always looks fabulous.  Definitely a fashion role-model.  You go girl!

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2013

On Wednesday night, November 13, 2013, in New York, Victoria's Secret held its annul fashion show that once again brought guests to their feet for standing ovations.  Not only did they have sexy, dazzling designs, top models, and killer heels, but they also had live performances from chart-toppers including Fall Out Boy, A Great Big World, Neon Jungle, and the stellar Miss Taylor Swift.  Everyone who's anyone was in attendance for the show of the season.  For the general public, the show will air on December 10th on CBS.  Below, I have included previews of the new lingerie lines and sleepwear, but be sure to tune in on 12/10 to see the complete show.
