My Style: School Girl

Today's Look: is about channeling my inner "Gossip Girl," styling like I'm ready to attend the Constance Billard School for Girls in New York City's Upper East Side with Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodsen.  The only difference is what I like to call "prepster grunge"--styling with a little edge.  Having fun with your fall fashion is what it's all about.  I love this ivory open-knit sleeveless sweater worn with a plaid mini skirt and over-sized black blazer.  Adding a classic choker layered with a pendant necklace and black tights with high platform booties combines the perfect touch of grunge styling.  A little burgundy lip color doesn't hurt either :)  I hope you're loving fall; I'm finishing up intense projects for my college courses.  Wish me luck!  Xoxo, Shelly

Beauty Tip:  Lately, I've loved Kylie Kardashian's lipsticks.  To capture the full lip look like Kylie, I filled in my lips with Lotus Berry lip crayon by Carmindy & Co. and outlined my lips with Cinnamon Swirl lipstick by No. 7.

Absolutely loving my new laptop skin from CaseApp.com!  The best part is I got to design it.  You can design your own skin or phone case too.  With the holidays around the corner, a customized phone case or skin makes a perfect holiday gift.  ♥

My Style: October Fest (Sunset 45 Giveaway)

Today's Look:  is all about October and a special giveaway!  For me, October is one of my favorite months.  The leaves are changing colors, the weather is getting chilly enough for scarves and boots, and Halloween is right around the corner!  Also, I turn 21 this month, so I'm a little biased towards my birthday month I suppose. ;)  For this look, I teamed up with Sunset 45!  I have had the pleasure of working with them before, but this time is extra special.  Sunset 45 and I have worked together to create a special edition "Arizona Girl" Little Luxuries Box!  Staying true to my roots the box has a southwestern, boho theme.  The pieces I chose I truly adore and I know you will too.  To enter for a chance to win the special box filled with handpicked accessories, complete the widget entry form below!  In today's look, I styled the "Josey" necklace and earring set that are in the "Arizona Girl" Little Luxuries Box!  Seriously ladies and gents, this box is filled with dream worthy goodies you don't want to miss out on.  Can't win if you don't try...Just sayin'.  Xoxo, Shelly

My Style: Others Follow Fall Lookbook

Today's Look:  is in collaboration with Others Follow (OF).  I was so excited when they approached me to participate in their Fall 2014 Instagram Lookbook.  You'll see a number of my fave bloggers on the OF Instagram during the next month; I highly recommend that you check out @OF_clothing.   First, you will love their clothes--total quality, incredible comfort, and chic style.  Second, you will adore their website, which happens to have one of the prettiest designs I have seen in awhile and that recommendation is coming from a critical graphic designer who wishes she had more time to up her game on her own blog :)  The photos, the poses, and the artwork are beautiful.  The dress I'm wearing is called the Agenda and it's a such a pretty geometric print that can be dressed up with heels or dressed down with opaque tights and combat boots.  The other article of clothing I selected was the Gavin jacket, a lovely plaid jacket with the softest sheared interior lining.  Absolutely wonderful threads!  Lastly, I added a pretty scarf, some funky shades, and an array of rings. Hope you enjoy these photos and the fall season that is upon us.  Xoxo, Shelly

Fashion Tip:  To stay warm in the cooler days of fall, you might try wearing opaque tights with boots when you wear a pretty dress.  Add a scarf and jacket and you can go into evening with comfort.

My Style: Free Falling

Today's Look:  is honoring the changing seasons.  I will miss the freedom of summer, but I look forward to the exciting events that are occurring in fall this year (stay tuned).  For this transiting-into-fall look, I teamed up with the online store eShakti.  eShakti is a unique e-store that provides customers the opportunity to have more control of what they buy and how it looks.  For example, if you see a design you like on the website, you can order the item customized to your preferences such as measurements, length, sleeve cut, neckline, etc.  You have a say in the design, which I think is pretty cool and fun (since I love designing fashion).  From their online store, I picked a modest black dress and chose an above-the-knee length skirt, a scoop neck, and elbow length sleeves.  I am very happy with the outcome.  The material is thick and soft, the stitching is quality, and the fit is just right.  In summer it's fun to show some skin and sometimes necessary because of the hot weather, but in fall I love to be covered up, wear layers, and be comfortable.  This dress is the perfect fall LBD (little black dress).  I styled the dress with an oversized cardigan, baggy beanie, brown purse, ankle boots, and gold jewelry.  I definitely recommend checking out eShakti.com.  Xoxo, Shelly

Fashion Tip:  Beanies found in the guy's section of stores tend to be baggier and bigger, which I personally think looks cooler.  Next time you're on the hunt for the perfect beanie, make sure to check the girl's and the guy's options.  ✌

My Style: Lace and Bamboo

Today's Look:  was taken in front of a patch of bamboo I discovered at the end of a small, charming street in my hometown.  Bamboo is known to bend and not break in the worst of weather, and it’s compared to a person’s character and essence withstanding the storms of life.  Some believe bamboo brings luck or signifies keeping true to yourself (fitting for the start of a new school year).  I felt the setting was perfect for an outfit that was both innocent and sexy, conservative and edgy.  For my styling, I like to stay true to myself, staying feminine but having a bit of toughness or touch of quirkiness.  This pretty lace bustier dress combined with a soft, knitted sweater and black cut out boots with funky socks are a perfect combination of sweet, fun, and sexy.  Hope you enjoy this outfit as much as I enjoyed styling it.  Xoxo, Shelly
