My Style: #CharlotteLook Contest

Today's Look:  announces a special contest sponsored by Charlotte Russe, one of my all-time favorite clothing companies.  For a chance to win a $100 Charlotte Russe gift card, simply style Charlotte Russe clothing, accessories, and/or shoes by posting a photo of yourself or a lay down to your Instagram.  You should hashtag #CharlotteLook and tag @CharlotteRusse.  Besides the $100 gift card, you will be featured on their site!  To read more about the contest, refer to this link:  http:bit.ly/CharlotteLookContest.  In this look, I'm wearing a burgundy velvet crop top and fluted, paneled neoprene skater skirt--both from Charlotte Russe.  Designed by T-Shirt & Jeans, the sleek bag I'm carrying can be a backpack or carried by a handle.  For additional styling, I added sheer, black criss cross tights and black platform booties.  Here's to seeing you on the Charlotte Russe site!  Xoxo, Shelly

My Style: Others Follow Fall Lookbook

Today's Look:  is in collaboration with Others Follow (OF).  I was so excited when they approached me to participate in their Fall 2014 Instagram Lookbook.  You'll see a number of my fave bloggers on the OF Instagram during the next month; I highly recommend that you check out @OF_clothing.   First, you will love their clothes--total quality, incredible comfort, and chic style.  Second, you will adore their website, which happens to have one of the prettiest designs I have seen in awhile and that recommendation is coming from a critical graphic designer who wishes she had more time to up her game on her own blog :)  The photos, the poses, and the artwork are beautiful.  The dress I'm wearing is called the Agenda and it's a such a pretty geometric print that can be dressed up with heels or dressed down with opaque tights and combat boots.  The other article of clothing I selected was the Gavin jacket, a lovely plaid jacket with the softest sheared interior lining.  Absolutely wonderful threads!  Lastly, I added a pretty scarf, some funky shades, and an array of rings. Hope you enjoy these photos and the fall season that is upon us.  Xoxo, Shelly

Fashion Tip:  To stay warm in the cooler days of fall, you might try wearing opaque tights with boots when you wear a pretty dress.  Add a scarf and jacket and you can go into evening with comfort.

My Style: Too Cool for School

Today's Look: is about looking hella sleek and feeling totally comfortable.  For the sleek appeal, you really can't beat the combo of burgundy and black (my fav).  I balanced the colors by wearing a burgundy fedora and burgundy boots with black on black in between.  I'm loving the lace top--luxurious with soft lining and intricate lace detailing from Little Mistress out of London.  For comfort, nothing beats the stretch of jeggings and the support of combat boots.  The soft faux-leather bag is from one of my favorite accessory design companies T-Shirt & Jeans.  Lastly, I couldn't resist adding a new pendant necklace from Kisstletoe.  I love the antique look and boho spirit of a glass globe filled with real mistletoe. Kisstletoe's tagline is "For the Kiss You Don't Want to Miss!" and how fun is that?!  Totes :)  Plus the company is generous and donates to the Malala Fund for the empowerment of girls.  Awesome cause!  Overall, you know you will love an outfit if you adore every separate piece in it.  Xoxo, Shelly

Fashion Tip:  Try mixing genres to create your own unique look and style.  For this outfit, I mixed Victorian (with the lace top and antiqued mistletoe necklace) and grunge (with skinny jeans and chunky boots).

My Style: Shake It Off

Today's Look:  emphasizes the beauty of a bohemian-inspired festival styling.  A rose print, sheer kimono over a black lace crop top with embroidered denim cutoffs and cool, buckle sandals make such a comfortable yet beautiful combination.  As summer comes to an end in Arizona, so does the festival season.  But you will see me continue to style with bohemian touches.  I've discovered that one of my favorite fashion genres is what I like to call bohemian grunge.  I see it as bohemian with an edge, not total hippie, not total punk.  But maybe a relaxed combination somewhere in between.  To complete this outfit styling, I added round, metal lace sunnies, a crystal pendant necklace, a studded leather bracelet, and two pretty, tarnished gold rings.  Of particular note are the burgundy sandals--have you ever seen a pair of shoes that you couldn't resist?  Meet my buckle-adorned sandals in distressed leather with layered wood heels. :)  BTW, if you haven't heard Taylor Swift's brand new single, "Shake It Off", I highly recommend that you check it out.  It's definitely my anthem for the new school year!  I included her new video below for ya. Trust me, it will make you want to dance and brighten your day. Xoxo, Shelly

Fashion Tip:  Every person (guy and girl) needs to have at least one crystal pendant necklace and one studded leather bracelet.  Then enjoy the beauty of wearing them together.  Perfection.

My Style: To Dye For

Today's Look: emphasizes the charm and empowerment of bohemian beauty.  I paired a lace crop top with a tie-dye, double-slit maxi skirt and accessorized with a cool choker necklace coupled with a crystal pendant necklace.  The To Dye For Maxi Skirt from Broke Girl Style is made out of a very soft material, but has a more hip-hugging fit than I expected, so if you are looking for a less snug fit, I suggest going a size up.  I got a small and, as you may have figured out already, I'm fine with tight clothes, so I'm very pleased with mine. haha  Finishing the look, I wore an amazing black sweater shrug, and delicate, pretty ankle-crossed strap flats.  I rarely wear flats, (because I normally opt for something with a little height or for killer boots) but I have to say I adore this pair from Charlotte Russe.  Anyway, I hope that today you find a little magic in what you do.  The luxury of being comfortable while you feel feminine is the magic that makes the bohemian style so popular.  Have a beautiful day!
