My Style: The Woods at Sunset

I'm loving this time of year when I can stroll in the woods and it's warm enough at sunset to wear a light romper and long cardigan.  It's so peaceful!  Notice the gorgeous tie-dye of the Other’s Follow romper with the drawstring gather and the pockets at the hips.  The material is soft and luxurious.  Next, you have to focus on the pretty ruffled hem at the base and at the sleeves of the cardi--beautiful design from Femmebot.  The knit material is delicate and yet full of life with sheer stripes.  I always love details.  Additionally for this styling, I selected the amazing Dame Harness Bootie in Sand by Koolaburra, specializing in beautiful leather designs.  These handsome, low-cut harness booties with a dipped front topline and stacked leather heel are so comfortable!  I selected a sleek, faux leather backpack that matched the booties nicely. Completing the outfit, I put on some chic sunnies, boho jewelry, and a floppy hat.

My Style: Spring Fling

Spring break can be the best time to surf at the beach, picnic at parks, dance at poolside parties, and listen to awesome bands.  Styling comfortable outfits is key to enjoying the best of times.  I began with high-rise, shredded cutoffs, a silky white tank, and a soft, tie-dyed kimono.  Adding a tassel necklace, platform sandals, ombré sunnies, and a gorgeous tasseled bag completed the music-festival worthy outfit.  I’m loving blue and white for spring and summer.  I’d like to hear what are your favorite color combinations for the next few months, especially if you’re planning a spring break getaway.  Xoxo, Shelly

My Style: American Girl

After a recent road trip, I have been addicted to Tom Petty and the Heartbreaker's hit "American Girl."  Now I know I'm nearly 40 years behind the crowd in discovering the song, but hey, it's a classic and deserves some props.  Channeling my inner rocker, I styled a chic tank top with an oversized kimono (from one of my new favorite brands Chaser) and high-waisted denim.  Little black booties, a fringe purse, delicate dangle earrings, and round sunnies seemed like the perfect finishing touches.

Now, these sunglasses are extra special because I customized them myself; I selected the frame, lens tint, and lens ombré thanks to an awesome online optical store called Polette.  Polette is unique in how it offers customers a large variety of options and customizations.  Their motto is "Do it different" and they definitely provide a special service for those in the market for new glasses or sunnies.  I recommend checking them out.

Another special collab this week is with a fellow AZ girl (originally from Hawaii however - lucky, right?) and up-and-coming jewelry brand called Ella Bella Hawaii.  The designer, Ellie, has a beautiful eye and designs jewelry that women of all ages can adore (perfect gift idea for any female on Valentine's Day).  Show her support by liking her Facebook page here and checking out her Etsy store here.

Also, I have some VERY exciting news, buuuuut I can't give it away just yet.  Let's just say, I will be traveling next week and have been blessed with an incredible opportunity.  I promise to fill you in as soon as I have the go ahead.  In the meantime, stay fabulous and have a beautiful day.  Xoxo, Shelly

My Style: Shake It Off

Today's Look:  emphasizes the beauty of a bohemian-inspired festival styling.  A rose print, sheer kimono over a black lace crop top with embroidered denim cutoffs and cool, buckle sandals make such a comfortable yet beautiful combination.  As summer comes to an end in Arizona, so does the festival season.  But you will see me continue to style with bohemian touches.  I've discovered that one of my favorite fashion genres is what I like to call bohemian grunge.  I see it as bohemian with an edge, not total hippie, not total punk.  But maybe a relaxed combination somewhere in between.  To complete this outfit styling, I added round, metal lace sunnies, a crystal pendant necklace, a studded leather bracelet, and two pretty, tarnished gold rings.  Of particular note are the burgundy sandals--have you ever seen a pair of shoes that you couldn't resist?  Meet my buckle-adorned sandals in distressed leather with layered wood heels. :)  BTW, if you haven't heard Taylor Swift's brand new single, "Shake It Off", I highly recommend that you check it out.  It's definitely my anthem for the new school year!  I included her new video below for ya. Trust me, it will make you want to dance and brighten your day. Xoxo, Shelly
