My Style: Flare for Adventure

Slipping into a pair of comfy bells for an afternoon of relaxation is one of the best feelings ever.  I love this look which I styled for the Other's Follow x Puravida Bracelets Summer 2015 InstaLookbook (https://instagram.com/of_clothing/).  To the tribal print flare pants, I added a soft, cream top with crocheted fringe, beautiful festival inspired jewelry, a fringe purse, and the best sandals. For a bohemian inspired look, I recommend combining a choker with a long pendant necklace--see below how well the two pieces compliment one another.  Besides thinking about fashion, I hope you are taking time for yourself, whether it's reading a good book (or Teen Vogue) underneath a shady tree or enjoying a luxurious bubble bath.  Happy Thursday!  Xoxo, Shelly

My Style: Earthbound x Arizona Girl

"Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair."
 -Khalil Gibran

Taking walks in the woods and looking at sunsets over the lakes have really helped me find more peace.  In line with this need for tranquility, I'm drawn towards, as you all well know, the more relaxed styles which the fashion industry refers to as bohemian, boho, or festival.  One of the best stores to find festival/bohemian styled clothing and accessories is Earthbound Trading Co. (EB).  I'm so happy their online store is now open!  Today's look is centered around a beautiful EB lace trimmed dress with a crocheted fringe hem.  I styled the look with EB accessories, including a fringe purse, floppy hat, bow and arrow earrings, an arm cuff, a sun pendant choker, and a few amazing rings.  To complete the look and to keep warm on a chilly spring afternoon, I added a vegan leather jacket and distressed combat boots.  I hope you take a break this week and walk through fields of tall grass or through some shady woods, finding relaxation and joy in the beauty of nature.  Xoxo, Shelly

My Style: Neutrals & Denim

T
he beauty of neutrals can be appreciated when enjoying natural surroundings.  Although I love deep burgundies and blacks, I am opening up to some lighter colors as spring approaches.  For my third #CharlotteLook (head-to-toe Charlotte Russe outfit), I styled a soft, over-sized, high-low sweater with shredded jeans that I rolled at the ankle, and the prettiest, distressed brown booties.  To accentuate the boots' gold accents, I added a gold bag and gold cross pendant necklace.  As I said in my previous post, I'm trying to experiment more with my hairstyles and had fun with a half top knot.  I'd love to hear what hairstyles you are liking for winter going into spring.  Have a wonderful Friday.  TGIF!  Xoxo, Shelly

People's Choice #FashionFOMO Episode

Happy Tuesday my fashionable peeps.  My #FashionFOMO episode is officially here!  Back in October, I collaborated with VIMBY (Video In My Backyard) and People's Choice to film an episode on how Vanessa Hudgens's style inspires me for the People's Choice web series.  The prep for the filming included emailing back and forth, brainstorming how to show Vanessa's diverse range of bohemian style, and phone calls going over locations and script.  It was my first experience with a whole film crew, detailed script, and booked locations.  It was a total blast!  The crew included Noel Jean, field producer, Dave Stone, filmmaker, Carlos Soto, production assistant, and Danielle Valiente, hair/makeup.  Everyone was so wonderful to work with and made me feel comfortable which is very important when filming.  The vibe on the set is major in my opinion.  Noel was a wonderful, friendly director and Dave and Carlos were very kind and funny!  And for Danielle, I want her to do my makeup and hair everyday.  Seriously.  I need her.  For the interview portion, the crew along with lights and camera equipment all had to squeeze into my closet; luckily it's a walk in.  haha  For the outfit footage, we shot at popular spots around my hometown, including the "Art for All" mural downtown, Courthouse Square, and Watson Lake.  Below are some behind the scenes photos.  Enjoy!   Xoxo, Shelly
