My Style: Summertime Sadness

Today's Look:  showcases a soft, jersey knit romper with a delicate scarf print from Charlotte Russe.  This is the most comfortable, and oh-so cute playsuit with a fitted silhouette and spaghetti straps.  I love that it's fashionable and versatile.  I've worn it on date nights, road trips and shopping adventures.  For this particular casual day, I accessorized with a sweater kimono, silver jewelry, and lace up, heeled booties.  So bummed that school starts Monday for me.  Really trying to live it up this weekend!  haha  I wish for you a beautiful day.  Xoxo, Shelly

Outfit Details:  Romper from Charlotte Russe | Cardigan from Target | Boots from Urban Outfitters | Necklace & Black Stone Ring from Maurices | Sunglasses, Bracelet, & Silver Rings from Earthbound Trading Company

Fashion Tip:  Selecting a statement necklace that compliments the print and the colors of the material in your outfit really adds a beauty to the overall styling.

My Style: Bohemian Rhapsody

Today's Look: was taken in beautiful Old Town Scottsdale on a humid, 102 degree afternoon.  Yes, I wilted.  Literally.  Northern Arizona is not nearly as hot as "The Valley" during the summer months, so I'm not acclimated to real heat.  Lucky for me, I received a lovely embellished chevron striped romper from Charlotte Russe that was perfect for a warm summer day. To give a more bohemian styling, which you know I love, I added a soft, extra-long jersey cardigan from SirenLondon.  SirenLondon is an e-retailer with headquarters located in Warwickshire, England.  Specializing in indie, vintage-style, hand-selected clothing,  they have an eye for trends and a great selection of what's current.  I definitely recommend checking them out!  To add more boho flare, I selected a pretty gold and black beaded hair-jewelry clip by artist Semira Mustafic, creator of Hair Floaters, black sling-back booties, various artistic rings, gold earrings, and a cuff bracelet.  Hope you're all staying cool this summer.  Xoxo, Shelly

Fashion Tip:  Long, black cardigans have a super power of being not only a stylish piece in any closet, but also being very flattering to a woman's curves.  I had been looking for one for awhile when I found this beauty.  The Long Tall Whisper Cardigan from SirenLondon could not be more perfect!

My Style: Babydoll Grunge

Today's Look:  was photographed during one of my most memorable photo shoots ever.  I am currently visiting my brother Billy in Los Angeles, California, and we always have such a blast working together.  Billy is a professional photographer and I always enjoy being his model to test out new techniques and bounce ideas off one another.  For this shoot, both of us were inspired by the babydoll plaid dress to try a more grunge/hipster approach and setting to the photos.  I styled the dress with one of my favorite pair of Steve Madden chunky buckle boots and, ironically, socks I was gifted from a past Valentine's Day and thought I'd never wear.  I love how the hearts and ruffles on the socks made the somewhat BA boots more feminine.  I accessorized with multiple necklaces, a couple of rings, my fav wide brimmed hat, and metal-lace rimmed sunglasses.

Outfit Details:  Dress by Audrey from Basement Marketplace | Boots by Steve Madden at 6pm.com | Hat from oasap.com | Layered Necklace by Lucky Brand from Dillard's | Clock Necklace from Urban Outfitters | Silver Ring from Forever 21 | Black Stone Ring from Maurices | Lipstick from Avon | Nails by Impress | Sunglasses by Style Vault from Amazon.com | Socks were a Valentine's Day gift

Fashion Tip:  Ruffled or girly socks worn with chunky black ankle boots create a stunning pair that stands out, elevating you to immediate trendsetter status.

My Style: New York Snob

Today's Look:  is all about how to make a simple sweatshirt into an essential street-style chic piece.  To start the look off, I chose a sweatshirt from Charlotte Russe (CR).  When CR sent the "New York SNOB" sweatshirt to me, it couldn't have been more perfect.  I love the city of New York with all its glamour, drama, and energy in that stylish element.  I would love to live there someday, so I enjoy repping this sweatshirt until then.  To add some color and layering, I wore a turquoise plaid button-up underneath the white and black sweatshirt.  Next, I chose faux-leather leggings and black sneaker wedges to add some edge.  Matching the brown in the plaid design in the shirt, I wore a hooded vest with brown faux-fur trim.  Finishing off the look, I accessorized with a pair of over-sized sunglasses for drama, a basic black beanie for warmth, black stud earrings, and multiple rings for that final glam factor.

Outfit Details:  Sweatshirt courtesy of Charlotte Russe , Leggings by Express at express.com, Vest at Maurices (Prescott, Arizona), Plaid top by Street Flower, Sneakers by Steve Madden at stevemadden.com, Beanie at urbanog.com, Sunglasses at Blink (Anaheim, California), Cross Ring by Forever 21 at forever21.com, Black Sparkly Ring by Silver Luxuries at Kohl's (Prescott, Arizona), Earring from AĆ©ropostale (Tucson, Arizona), Impress Nails at Walgreens (Prescott, Arizona).

Fashion Tip:  Adding a pop of plaid to a monochromatic outfit, not only adds color, but it also makes the look unique.

Celebrities rockin' the faux-leather leggings trend:

Cara Delevingne        Hilary Duff        Kristen Stewart        Dakoda Fanning        Ashley Benson
