My Style: Happy St. Patrick's Day from Sedona

Today's Look:  is about enjoying the scenic red hills of Sedona, Arizona.  Spring Break in Sedona is the best—the best weather, restaurants, recreation, stores, and the best people.  In between hiking, sightseeing, eating out, swimming, and, of course, shopping, I had to do a couple of blog photoshoots.  Knowing that St. Patrick’s day was right around the corner, I selected a pretty, green crocheted crop top and camo booties with a black high-low skirt and fringe purse.  The shoes are comfy and easy to walk in, believe it or not, so they were perfect for a day of sightseeing and shopping.  This shoot was taken at Tlaquepaque, an artisans’ village, with beautiful architecture, unique shops, and fancy restaurants.  The best part of this photoshoot at Tlaquepaque was the tourists who kept standing around to watch the photos being taken and making complimentary remarks about my wardrobe.  It was somewhat awkward posing in front of strangers, but it was also kind of fun.  haha  If you happen to be reading this on March 17th, happy St. Patrick’s Day to you!

Fashion Tip:  On St. Patrick's Day, be sure to wear green!  When I was in high school, every year, at least one guy would try to pull the "Are you wearing green?" excuse to pinch me.  Even if you don't wear a green clothing item, make sure to at least wear a green bracelet, pair of earrings, or necklace to ward off any jokestersand to look fabulous, of course.

My Style: Little Black Dress

Today's Look:  is filled with sophistication and sprinkled with youth.  To start the look off, I chose the dress.  You could say it's vintage since it was passed down to me from my aunt.  When she gave it to me she told me it was an important dress.  It was her perfect LBD (little black dress) and held many magical memories.  I was thrilled to have been given it.  The dress is sleeveless with a heavy material that hangs nicely and sparkles like a starry night.  It's very pretty but a little long for my preference.  So, to update the modest dress and add a personal touch, I accessorized with a gray and silver belt at the waist to help shorten the dress, as well as add the glam factor.  Next, I chose the jacket.  I wanted something warm, fabulous, and longer length since it was a chilly, rainy day.  The black and grays in the animal print design went beautifully.  Since tights would have been somewhat conservative, I opted for sheer thigh-highs and platform boots to add some edge.  Finishing off the look, I wore silver hoop earrings, two silver rings, and a metallic clutch, all bedazzled obviously.  ;)

(Flagstaff, Arizona), Belt was a gift.

Fashion Tip:  Every girl needs a perfect little black dress.  It's always classy, never trashy, and great for every occasion.

My Style: Flower Power

Today's Look:   is all about exploring the freedom of flowers and the power of stripes.  To start the look off, I chose a high-waisted, skater skirt which features black and white stripes interrupted by geometric designs and gold buttons.  Next, I chose a red, acid-washed crop-top to add color and a white, material flower headband with a leather and chain braided base.  Matching the black print on the skirt, I chose a black, fringe purse and high-heeled ankle boots.  Finishing off the look, I wore a gold and white beaded bracelet, two tarnished gold rings, gold leaf, dangle earrings, and loosely curled my hair for a soft finishing touch.

Outfit Details:  Crop-Top by Milkyway USA at urbanog.com, Skirt c/o Charlotte Russe ❤, Headband and Purse from American Eagle (Tucson, Arizona), Rings from Aeropostale (Scottsdale, Arizona), Bracelet from Claire's (Prescott, Arizona), Shoes from Charlotte Russe (Tucson, Arizona), Earring were a gift.

Fashion Tip:  Flower headbands are not just a summer accessory.  Flower headbands and crowns can be rocked summer, fall, spring, and even winter (especially white and red ones.)

My Style: Roar

Today's Look:  is all about the fierce, embellished tiger shirt and gold, statement necklace.  First, I chose the busy, tiger top and simple, black skirt.  Next, I wanted to amp up the outfit even more, so I chose the geometric, gold-chain necklace, along with my black, high-heeled ankle boots.  I loved how the necklace complimented the top and how the boots added height to the look.  Finishing the outfit, I chose gold, square earrings, two rings, infinity bracelet, and my black-with-gold-flourishes Betsey bag.

Outfit Details:  Top from Rain Forest Cafe (Anaheim, California),  Skirt from Maurice's (Prescott, Arizona), Purse from betseyjohnson.com, Shoes from Charlotte Russe (Tucson, Arizona), Rings from Avon, Necklace c/o Charlotte Russe ❤.

Fashion Tip:  Gold necklaces can contrast well even against a patterned shirt.  Think about adding gold more as a fashion accessory.  Don't underestimate the power of gold.

Below, I included a collage featuring gold statement necklaces from Charlotte Russe.

My Style: The 411 on Navy with Black

Today's Look:  is all about breaking the rules.  One of my favorite fashion rules to break is the "Never wear navy with black" rule.  Many people in business wear navy suits and black shoes and don't match them with a black belt, or wear brown shoes with black socks.  When doing so, they are considered to be doing a faux pas or fashion suicide.  When done correctly, the colors navy blue and black look great together.

To start the look off, I chose my navy high-low blouse and gray, whitewashed miniskirt.  I loved how the top was loose, as well as long in the back and how the form-fitting skirt looked nice underneath it.  In honor of back to school, I wore my black, studded backpack and black high-heeled ankle boots to add some edge.  Finishing off the look, I wore a beaded pendant necklace, a silver fish bracelet, three rings, and a spiked, black headband.

Outfit Details:  Top at Forever 21 (Tucson, Arizona), Skirt by Nollie at PacSun (Scottsdale, Arizona), Boots at Charlotte Russe (Tucson, Arizona), Backpack by Pink at Victoria's Secret (Prescott, Arizona), Necklace at Buckle (Prescott, Arizona), Headband at Claire's (Tucson, Arizona),  Earrings at Fancy That (Prescott, Arizona), Stone Ring at Disney Vault 28 (Anaheim, California), Band Rings at Aeropostale (Tucson, Arizona).

Fashion Tip:  When wearing navy with black,  make sure to pull each color into the outfit.  For example I pulled the black ankle boots in by wearing a black backpack.  Also, a loose high-low blouse is perfect to wear with a tight mini skirt.  The blouse not only makes the skirt more modest, but it also makes a unique outfit.

Below, I included more outfit ideas of how to rock black and navy together.
