My Style: City of Love

Today's Look:  shows one of my favorite combinations of styles called boho grunge.  The darker colors of black and grey with a choker and muscle tank bring out the 90's grunge styling, while the loose maxi skirt and wide-brimmed hat accentuate the bohemian appeal.  This kind of outfit is soft and comfortable, a perfect outfit for enjoying a warm November day in California.  I visited Cali for a quick weekend trip for my brother's wedding shower, which was an absolutely lovely family gathering.  I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  Xoxo, Shelly

My Style: We Will Always Have Paris

Today's Look:  shows how a girl can be edgy while still remaining classy.  To start the look off, I chose a white v-neck featuring the saying "WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE PARIS".  I personally adore this top.  When Charlotte Russe sent it to me, I couldn't wait to style it!  It's not only romantic, but I'm also drawn to it given the fact that my dream is to visit Paris someday.  To make the basic tee chic, I tucked the top into a fab faux-leather skirt with zipper details.  I like how the skirt isn't too short, but definitely isn't conservative either.  Next, I wore black suede, high-heeled ankle booties, and a sleek, black clutch.  Finishing off the look, I accessorized with a multi-metal, layered necklace, two rings, and silver stud earrings.

Fashion Tip:  When trying to think of an edgy yet classy outfit, it's essential to remember to either have the sex appeal above the waist with a crop-top, strapless top, or spaghetti straps,  or below the waist with a mini skirt, pair of shorts, or form fitting pants, but not both.

My Style: Under the Mistletoe

Today's Look:  celebrates the deep reds of Christmas and the mystery/intrigue of black.  Over the holidays, families often gather together for a Christmas or celebratory feast to catch up and bond.  Every year, my family hosts at our house and we all exchange gifts and laughter.  It's normally an early dinner and casual-yet-nice attire is the norm.  This year, I wanted to wear something festive, feminine, and wintery-ish.  To start the look off, I chose a cozy, burgundy and beige striped sweater and black skater skirt.  For warmth, I chose knee-high burgundy socks and black combat boots.  I love the socks for their unique opaque-then-sheer design and ruffled top.  The boots are edgy yet sophisticated with a nice height and buckles.  Finishing off the look, I wore dark lipstick for drama, a black bedazzled headband for that innocent-school-girl kinda look, a sparkly, vintage necklace with matching earrings, and two rings.

Chilcottage (Flagstaff, Arizona), Black Band Ring from Earthbound Trading Co. (Flagstaff, Arizona), Stone Ring was a gift, Necklace & Earring were a gift from my grandmother (Vintage), Nail by Impress at Walgreens (Prescott, Arizona).

Fashion Tip:  Burgundy and black make a bold and edgy pair - perfect for fall and winter!

Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season and, if you celebrate Christmas, Merry Christmas!

My Style: Roar

Today's Look:  is all about the fierce, embellished tiger shirt and gold, statement necklace.  First, I chose the busy, tiger top and simple, black skirt.  Next, I wanted to amp up the outfit even more, so I chose the geometric, gold-chain necklace, along with my black, high-heeled ankle boots.  I loved how the necklace complimented the top and how the boots added height to the look.  Finishing the outfit, I chose gold, square earrings, two rings, infinity bracelet, and my black-with-gold-flourishes Betsey bag.

Outfit Details:  Top from Rain Forest Cafe (Anaheim, California),  Skirt from Maurice's (Prescott, Arizona), Purse from betseyjohnson.com, Shoes from Charlotte Russe (Tucson, Arizona), Rings from Avon, Necklace c/o Charlotte Russe ❤.

Fashion Tip:  Gold necklaces can contrast well even against a patterned shirt.  Think about adding gold more as a fashion accessory.  Don't underestimate the power of gold.

Below, I included a collage featuring gold statement necklaces from Charlotte Russe.
