My Style: Red Hair, Don't Care

Today's Look:  is about enjoying crazy fun hair color without damaging your hair with chemicals.  I have been wanting to dye my hair for years, but I never quite bit the bullet--so I'm loving these reusable hair extensions by Crisace Professional Hair Enhancement Systems.  Last week, I went with the classic brown Remy human hair that matched my natural hair color perfectly.  Very happy with the results, I loved the look and feel.  This week I tried out the Rock Star iHair extension in Wine Red made from Fibre human hair that is hot tool friendly.  What do you think of the hair color?  In keeping with the rock star vibe, I wore distressed combat boots, shredded black skinny jeans, a cool graphic tee, a boyfriend denim jacket, a black tattoo choker, a beautiful ear cuff, mixed gold & silver bracelet, and numerous rings.  The graphic tee by VVAD3 (WE ARE DOP3) is thick, soft, and unisex--we can all wear the sweet designs and look cool.  The ear cuff by Emma Joy added just a little feminine bling with an edge. #awesome  Xoxo, Shelly

My Style: Timber

Today's Look:  is named after one of the catchiest songs out right now, "Timber" by Pitbull ft. Ke$ha.  This look was inspired by the staple piece, the belted sweater dress from Poof Apparel.  The dress is so soft and warm, while the belt is a beautifully braided brown that compliments the taupe.  I love how the dress fits like a glove and is such great quality.  When it arrived, I started styling it in my head right away.  To create a complete winter outfit, I styled the dress with my favorite southwest-inspired fringe cardigan and brown, heeled boots.  The boots and belt matched perfectly.  I accessorized with a vintage hiker's hat that my Great Uncle Terry used to wear in the 1970s.  I finished off the outfit with black opaque tights, tarnished-gold drop earrings, and two tarnished-gold rings.

Outfit Details:  Dress and Belt courtesy of Poof Apparel , Sweater by American Eagle at ae.com, Boots by Lucky Brand at Dillard's, Tights by HUE at Dillard's, Earrings and Wrapped Ring at World Market, Band Ring by AĆ©ropostale at AĆ©ropstale, Hat is vintage.

Fashion Tip:  When wearing a short dress in the winter, a coat, sweater, or cardigan are a must.  When styling the two together, matching the lengths of the pieces helps create a finished and fabulous look!

Style Crush Saturday: Lily Collins

Style Crush:  Lily Collins
Known For:  Acting, Modeling
Style:  Vintage, Feminine, Classy

This week's Style Crush is the angelic Lily Collins.  Lily is an English-American actress best known for her role as Snow White in Mirror Mirror,  a movie with a modern twist on the old classic.  Although she was born in the U.K., Lily moved to Los Angeles when she was just five years old after her father, famous musician Phil Collins, and mother, Beverley Hills Women's Club President Jill Tavelman, split.  As a child, Lily performed at the Youth Academy for Dramatic Arts, but at the time, dreamed of becoming a journalist.  Pursuing her interest in journalism, Lily wrote a column for the British magazine Elle Girl and has also been published in Seventeen, LA Times Magazine, and Teen Vogue.  After graduating high school, Lily attended University of Southern California, majoring in broadcast journalism.  Through making appearances on the Nickelodeon show the Nick News with Linda Ellerbee: Kids Pick the President for journalism purposes, Lily found her way back to acting.  Since then, Lily has gone on to act in huge block busters like The Blind Side, Abduction, and The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones and win the 2008 Young Hollywood Award: One to Watch.

Lily Collins may be best known for being an actress, but she has also made a name for herself in the fashion world.  From long ballgowns with sequins galore to skinny jeans and a tattered sweater, Lily always rocks a cutting-edge outfit with grace and beauty.  Although her style is always evolving and keeps getting even better, her trademark today is still her thick, defined eyebrows.  Some have even gone as far as to compare Lily's appearance with that of the late Audrey Hepburn, who was also famous for her dark brows.  After being born in the U.K., but raised in the U.S.A., Lily's style influence comes from both continents.  Never dull, never sloppy, Lily Collins is not only a movie star, but she's also a total fashionista.

My Style: Vintage Hipster

Today's Look:  is all about channeling a vintage hipster vibe.  Even though I don't shop at flea markets or second hand stores, I still like to dress with hipster influences from time to time.  To start the look off, I chose my cream colored, high-waisted shorts, navy sheer, collared shirt, and brown waist belt.  Making the outfit similar to a romper, I tucked the blouse into the shorts and belted the two articles of clothing together at the waist to create a full ensemble.  To match the brown in the belt, I wore brown beaded sandals with silver detailing.  Matching the cream color of the shorts, I wore a cream colored purse.  Finishing off the outfit, I wore a beaded bracelet, two rings, bow earrings, and oversized tortoise sunglasses.

Outfit Details:  Blouse at Papaya (Tucson, Arizona), Shorts by Sparkle and Fade at Urban Outfitters (Scottsdale, Arizona), Belt at Delia's (Scottsdale, Arizona), Sandals by DBDK Fashion, Earrings at Forever 21 (Scottsdale, Arizona), Bracelet at Target (Prescott, Arizona), Purse at Charming Charlies (Scottsdale, Arizona).

Fashion Tip:  High-waisted shorts are huge this summer! Whether it's '80s looking denim shorts or '60s material vintage, high-waists are in.
