My Style: One of Those Days

Today's Look: is monochromatic and grungy-chic, styled for the last few chilly weeks of winter and the last few days of school until break.  First, I chose the soft and cozy sweater, perfect for a long day of classes.  I especially like this Charlotte Russe sweater for its unique light gray and black stripe design.  The stripes are big and flattering while the material is soft and comfy.  Next, I chose light gray skinny jeans and black combat boots, both great for keeping warm and walking across campus.  I wanted the blacks in the look separated yet unified.  For outerwear, I wore a black (without the) leather jacket and knitted beanie.  Finishing off the look, I accessorized with funky round shades, a beautiful charm necklace, and three fabulous rings. Spring break is next week and I CANNOT wait.  I'm so ready to sleep, sleep, AND sleep.  :)

Outfit Details:  Sweater & Boots courtesy of Charlotte Russe , Jacket & Jeans by Express at express.com, Beanie & Glasses at urbanog.com, Necklace by Buckle at Buckle (Prescott, Arizona), Earrings by Destine Austrian Crystal at Sally Beauty Supply (Prescott, Arizona), Black Crystal Ring at Earthbound Trading Co. (Flagstaff, Arizona), Cross Ring by Forever 21 at forever21.com, Impress Nails at Walgreens (Prescott, Arizona), Chain Midi-Ring was a gift.

Fashion Tip:  For an ever classic too-cool-for-school look, a leather jacket and pair of combat boots will always be soulmates; they are the perfect pair to add edge and style to any outfit.

My Style: Grunge Plaid

Today's Look:  is all about the major fall trend of plaid and return of 1990's grunge.  To start the look off, I first chose a white graphic tee featuring the word "FAMOUS" printed across the chest and gray skinny jeans.  Since the morning had a chilly breeze, I wanted to pick a thick, warm coat.  I chose a red plaid peacoat and rolled up the sleeves to make it less wintery and more appropriate for fall.  Next, I chose black military boots, a backpack, and round sunglasses.  Finishing off the look, I wore red lipstick, two rings, black and silver stacked bracelets, and a black gentleman's hat.

Outfit Details: Top c/o Charlotte Russe , Jeans from Express (Scottsdale, Arizona), Jacket from Old Navy (was a gift), Boots by Steve Madden at nordstrom.com, Backpack by PINK at Victoria's Secret (Prescott, Arizona), Hat by Hengshu at oasap.com, Sunglasses from urbanog.com, Earrings at Sally's Beauty Supply (Prescott, Arizona), Rings from Premiere Designs Jewelry, Bracelets were a gift.

Fashion Tip:  Fall weather can be very unpredictable, especially at the beginning of the season.  In the morning, the temperature can be freezing, but in the afternoon, it can be hot.  Because of this, I suggest wearing a nice light top or layers underneath a sweater or coat.  This way you're prepared for the cold, but also can take off your warm pieces to cool off.

This fall, red plaid jackets from preppy to grunge are a major trend.

My Style: Blue Jaguar

Today's Look:  is all about the blue, faceted beads linked with large, metallic rings, resembling a gold chain necklace.   Normally, I don't base the outfit around the jewelry or even try to make the jewelry the focal point, so today's post is unique.   To start the look off, I chose to style my statement necklace with an outfit that would compliment it, while remaining casual.  First, I chose my similar-in-color, blue jaguar print top.  The top's color compliments the necklace's color, while also accenting the necklace's chain with its gold studs sewn around the arm sections.  Next, I chose faded-gray skinny jeans.  Since the top portion of the outfit is blue, I wanted something other than regular blue denim.  Finishing off the look, I wore gold, braided sandals, gold square earrings, an infinity bracelet, an animal print headband, and a black/gold accented purse.

Outfit Details:  Top by Blu Pepper at Foot Fetish (Prescott, Arizona), Pants from Express (Scottsdale, Arizona), Shoes from Delia's (Tucson, Arizona), Purse by Betsey Johnson at betseyjohnson.com, Bracelet at Dillard's (Prescott, Arizona), Rings from Avon, Necklace c/o Charlotte Russe .

Fashion Tip:  When wearing a colorful statement necklace, matching one of the colors that's in the necklace along with a blouse of the same hue really makes a beautiful, noticeable ensemble.

Below, I included a collection of bold, bright necklaces and their links.

My Style: Dr. Martens Special

Today's Look:  has multiple statement pieces, from the velvet-tiger sweatshirt, spiked backpack, white Dr. Martens, to the "Fearless" charm bracelet.  Today's outfit is special, because my brother, who is a professional photographer and videographer, is in town visiting.  He was the photographer of today's photo-shoot.  To start the look off, I chose my light gray, embellished sweatshirt and white-washed, charcoal skinny jeans.  Next, I chose my white leather boots, spiked backpack, and white/black, charm bracelet.  Since the outfit is edgy, I wore my hair in loose curls to soften the look.  Finishing off the outfit, I wore three rings, black stud earrings, and cat-eye sunglasses.

Outfit Details:  Top by Forever 21 (Tucson, Arizona), Pants by Express (Scottsdale, Arizona), Boots by Dr. Martens at choicestore.co.uk, Backpack by River Island at riverisland.com, Sunglasses at Forever 21, Bracelets by BCBGeneration at Dillard's (Prescott, Arizona), Rings and Earrings at Aeropostale (Tucson, Arizona).

Fashion Tip:  If you're in the United States and considering buying Dr. Martens, it's somewhat of an ordeal.  Not only is it difficult to decide what color to pick, but it is also difficult to figure out what size to buy.  Dr. Martens come in so many different shapes, colors, and patterns, and only are sold in U.K. whole sizes. Even though so many funky options are out there, when buying Dr. Martens, I recommend going with a solid color in the classic cut.  I'd say red and black are the two most popular colors of the brand.  Now, with which shoe size to buy, it can be tricky.  I researched the comparisons of U.K. sizes to U.S. and came to the conclusion that the U.K. sizes are one below the U.S. sizes.  Therefore meaning, a U.K. 7 is equal to a  U.S. 8.  I am a 6-6.5 so I bought a U.K. 5 and it fits great.  Even if you order your boots online, I definitely recommend going into a local store to try on a pair, making sure you like the fit.
