My Style: Born to be Wild

 

Today's Look:  is all about being daring.  For this particular look, since school is approaching, I wanted to make an outfit that would work with one of my backpacks.  Today, I chose my Hello Kitty leopard print backpack.  Since the backpack's colors include black, tan, and brown, I chose to add color into the ensemble by wearing a pair of  high-waisted, richly colored burgundy pants and a short-cut, white-washed chambray shirt.  To pull in the tan of the bag, I wore suede ankle boots and a spiked headband to match.  Completing the look, I wore a leopard print ring, a tarnished gold band, tarnished gold leaf earrings, and two bracelets.   Dare to be bold.  Born to be wild.

Fashion Tip:  This school year, have fun with animal print backpacks.  They add a dash of edge to any outfit.  There are so many options out there to choose from, so it was difficult to narrow it down. I included a selection of my favorite nine animal print backpacks and their links below.

My Style: Black Fringe

Today's Look:  features an animal print dress, a black sheer top, suede ankle boots, and a black suede fringe purse.  The dress is spaghetti strapped, beaded along the neckline, and form fitting from the waist up.  I didn't fee like being overly girly today though, so I covered the top portion with an animal print, sheer blouse.  The top has loose ruffles along the bottom and gathered material at the shoulders.  To break free of the sandals-in-summer norm, I wore ankle boots and short socks.  Finishing off the ensemble, I wore tarnished gold, jeweled hoop earrings,  two rings, and a black suede fringed purse.

Fashion Tip:  Ankle boots with a short dress give an outfit a more grunge feel.  Dresses can sometimes seem too formal or out of place, so ankle boots make a dress fit into a more casual setting.  

My Style: Earth Day Neutrals

Today's Look:  is all about celebrating Earth Day and wearing neutrals.  Every April 22nd, Earth Day is an annual event on which activities are held that demonstrate and promote environmental protection.  In honor of this respectable day, I chose to dress in greens, browns, and beiges.  My favorite piece of the outfit happens to be my silver chain necklace that includes a charm of the Tree of Life. The Tree of Life has been used in science, religions, philosophies, and mythologies as a symbol of unity and knowledge.  Happy Earth Day!

Fashion Tip:  Sometimes wearing one necklace just isn't enough.  Try mixing it up by pairing different necklaces together to create a unique look. 

My Style: Boho Chic Maxi Dress

Today's Look:  is inspired by the effortless style of boho chic.   Boho chic is a female fashion trend that shows major bohemian and hippie influences.  My favorite boho chic icons include Kate Moss, Florence Welch, and Sienna Miller.  Since the dress can be either dressy or casual, I paired it with a cut-off, light-denim vest, a brown suede, fringe purse, and thong gladiator sandals.   To go along with the boho chic theme of the outfit, I wore my hair in loose curls.
