My Style: Winter Wonderland

Today's Look:  channels the childhood character Little Red Riding Hood with a modern twist.   Consisting of mountains covered in pine trees, northern Arizona becomes truly beautiful under a blanket of snow.  Yes, the temperature is freezing, but the scenery is breathtaking.  Inspired by the dark, snow covered woods, I first chose a flowing, long-sleeved maroon top, tan and black, aztec-design leggings, and black combat boots.  Next, I chose a black with white skulls and crowns scarf to add contrast, as well as edge (we all know the story of Little Red Riding Hood wasn't a bright and happy one).  Next, I chose the shearling coat for warmth and irony (normally shearling coats are made out of sheepskin, which pays tribute to the wolf in the story).  Finishing off the look, I wore dark lipstick for dramatic effect, dangling skull earrings to match the scarf, and two rings for good measure.

Outfit Details:  Boots & Leggings c/o Charlotte Russe , Coat by Cherokee at Target (Prescott, Arizona), Top by Lani California at Sage Brush Trading Co. (Flagstaff, Arizona), Scarf by Nollia at Fancy That (Prescott, Arizona), Earrings from Earth Bound Trading Co. (Flagstaff, Arizona), White Stone Ring at nastygal.com, Faith Ring from Premiere Designs.

Fashion Tip:  Shearling coats are not only warm, but they're also trendy.  Great for making a winter outfit fashionable.

My Style: Sail Away with Me

Today's Look:  is all about saying goodbye to warm summer days and nights.  Fall is officially here, so it's time for boots, scarfs, jackets, and beanies, but in honor of my favorite season, I wanted to post one of my last summer styles.  To start the look off, I chose white and faded-black striped, denim shorts.  The shorts feature lace embellishing on each leg that dress them up and slightly frayed ends that add edge.  Matching the off-white lace on the shorts, I wore an off-white, collared blouse that I tucked in only in the front to keep the outfit casual.  Next, to match the stripes of the short, I chose to wear my faded-black and off-white floral sneakers.  Finishing off the look, I wore a woven, taupe fedora with an off-white lace strip around the brim, a silver, heart pendant necklace, sparkly clutch, silver bangle, two rings, and fleur-de-lis studs.

Outfit Details:  Hat c/o Charlotte Russe , Bracelet by Brighton c/o Fancy That (Prescott, Arizona), Top from Express (Scottsdale, Arizona), Shorts by Lulu Mari at P.J. Chilcottage (Flagstaff, Arizona), Shoes by Roxy at Dillard's (Prescott, Arizona), Purse from Charming Charlies (Scottsdale, Arizona), Necklace from Earthbound Trading Co. (Flagstaff, Arizona), Earrings by Brighton at Fancy That, Stone Ring from Disney Vault 28 (Anaheim, California), Silver Ring from Aeropostale (Tucson, Arizona.)

Fashion Tip:  When wearing patterned and/or lace shorts, try to wear a simple, solid-color top to compliment rather than compete.

To hop on the fedora bandwagon, I included a variety below as well as their link.

My Style: Transitioning into Fall

Today's Look:  is all about making the transition from summer wardrobe to fall wardrobe.  Since summer is coming to an end, soon shorts, sandals, and spaghetti straps will be retired for a few months.  In fall, jeans, boots, sweaters, and scarves are the staple items for the chilly days to come.  To be able to make the transition, I am slowly changing from bright colors and skin-baring clothes to more subdued hues and warmer clothes.  To start the look off, I chose a chevron, formfitting mini-dress with short sleeves, and cut-outs in the back.  Since the dress is short and summery, I wanted to darken the look somehow, so I chose an army-green, baggy sweater.  I like how the sweater is loose, but not overbearing.  Next, I chose my suede, taupe wedges, because they went nicely with the sweater.  Finishing off the outfit, I accessorized with multiple necklaces, one consisting of a fleur-de-lis charm with turquoise and brown crystal detailing.  Lastly, I selected a green, patchwork purse to bring together the different colors of the dress and sweater.

Outfit Details:  Dress c/o Charlotte Russe ❤, Sweater by Monoreno at Fancy That (Prescott, Arizona), Shoes by Jessica Simpson at Dillard's (Prescott, Arizona), Purse from World Market, Short Necklace by Lucky Brand at Dillard's (Prescott, Arizona), Rings from Aeropostale (Scottsdale, Arizona), Fleur-de-lis Necklace was a gift.

Fashion Tip:  When transiting into fall, comfy sweaters are essential.

Below, I included more chevron dress outfit ideas and the link to find them.
