My Style: Birthday Girl

Today's Look:  celebrates color and fun in honor of my 20th birthday.  For the special occasion, I wanted something cute and edgy while of course involving pink (my favorite color). To start the look off, I chose the comic-book inspired tank top which features an array of colors that really stand out.  Since the tank top has cut-outs in the back and open-arms,  I wore a black cami underneath for coverage.  Next, I chose colorful platform heels that have a whimsical Aztec pattern, including an array of colors that match the tank top.  Trying to create contrast to the bold, bright top and shoes, I chose to go with loose, boyfriend jeans that I rolled up at the ankles.  It took me awhile to find the perfect pair, because often times boyfriend jeans aren't flattering.  So, instead of buying just any boyfriend pants, I chose a brand I like (Rock Revival) and bought a size bigger than I normally would in a low-cut, straight-legged pair. Finishing off the look, I chose a pink clutch, pink crystal stud earrings, an exotic bracelet, and two rings.

Outfit Details:  Shirt and Platform Heels c/o Charlotte Russe , Jeans by Rock Revival at Grand Central Clothing (Tucson, Arizona), Earrings at Sally's Beauty Supply (Prescott, Arizona), Bracelet handmade (Cozumel, Mexico), Crystal Ring from Aeropostale (Tucson, Arizona), Faith Ring from Premiere Designs Jewelry, Wallet from Claire's (Prescott, Arizona).

Fashion Tip:  Boyfriend pants paired with strappy stilettos, pointy heels, or platform pumps creates a chic-tomboy look.

My Style: Back It Up

Today's Look:  is all about going back to school.  Now, as a college student I have a lot more freedom in
wardrobe than I did in high school.  In college there is no dress code, so the shorts are going to be shorter and the tops are going to be a tad smaller, but not ridiculous.  To start the look off, I chose my high-waisted, black, polka-dotted shorts and dark pink crop-top.  Since my post is in honor of back to school, I chose to accessorize with a Southwest canvas backpack.  When picking out outfits for school, I love matching my backpack to my outfit.  Normally, people just buy one and use it till it breaks and carry a purse around as well, which seems like a huge hassle in my mind.  I, on the other hand, love to buy a couple of backpacks and switch it up once in awhile, to match whatever outfit I chose for the day.   Finishing off the look, I chose my black military boots, white socks to match the polka-dots, a cross necklace, three silver rings, and silver, bedazzled hoop earrings.  I also curled my hair to add a feminine touch to a somewhat edgy outfit.

Outfit Details:  Crop-top by Wet Seal at Wet Seal (Tucson, Arizona), Shorts by Delia's at Delia's (Tucson, Arizona), Backpack by Forever 21 at Forever 21 (Tucson, Arizona), Boots by Steve Madden nordstrom.com, Earrings by BKE at Buckle (Prescott, Arizona), Rings by Aeropostale at Aeropostale (Tucson, Arizona), Necklace by Forever 21 at Forever 21.

Fashion Tip:  Since summer is coming to an end and back to school shopping is in the works or about to be, remember to focus on buying backpacks as well as clothes.  Growing up, I would always look at people's backpacks and see who is wearing what.  Even though people may not say it, they judge your backpack.  In school, purses tend to be tedious and backpacks are essential, so make sure to buy a backpack or two that compliment your wardrobe.  Southwest inspired backpacks are not only super in right now, but they are also very colorful and work as a great accessory to any ensemble.  Below I included a selection of southwest printed backpacks as well as their links.

My Style: Comic Book Crop Top

Today's Look:  is all about the comic book crop top and high-low skirt.  To start the outfit off, I chose to wear the vibrant, intricate comic book top.  The comic printed tops are a new trend.  Matching the short cut of the top, I wore the high-low skirt high on my hips, to make the outfit less revealing.  Finishing off the look, I wore black sandals, a black purse, a colorful bracelet, red stud earrings, and black round sunglasses.

My Style: Under My Umbrella

Today's Look:  Who said you can't look fashionable on a rainy day?  Today's outfit was almost postponed because of a random rainstorm, but instead of letting the ran ruin my photo-shoot, I adapted.  I grabbed an old umbrella from the garage, and I was more than happy to break in my new Betsey Johnson rain boots.  To pull out the red detailing from the tattoo-like designs on the boots, I wore a cozy red sweater that also matched the umbrella's floral print.  Since light jeans would show wet spots from the rain, I chose my dark navy skinny jeans that fit nicely in the waterproof boots.  I wore bright yellow Betsey earrings to finish off the look.

Outfit Details:  Sweater by Roxy at Pacsun, Jeans by Levi's at Macy's, Rain boots by Betsey Johnson at 6pm.com, Earrings by Betsey Johnson at betseyjohnson.com.

Fashion Tip:  Don't use a rainy day as an excuse to not look fabulous.  Buy a cute pair of rain boots and a fun umbrella, so even if the weather looks gloomy, you look amazing.

Fashion Designs Inspired by Prom Season

Prom Season is upon us once again. In honor of the time of year, I decided to design some dresses that I know I would have loved to have worn to prom myself.

These sketches include long dresses of all different colors and shapes. I am in love with bright, happy colors this year.  I find inspiration all around me, whether its in art, music, or what I see in magazines, movies, and so much more.

Let me know what you think <3
