Irresistible Me Hair Extensions Review

I grew up watching the Hannah Montana TV show, and I always loved Miley's long, brown hair.  Although I have grown my own hair long, I still like extensions to add more fullness, length, and beauty.  I was asked by Irresistible Me to review the company's product and select what I would like to try.  I selected the Royal Remy Clip-In Extensions in 200 G weight and 24 inch length.

Here are some reasons that I give the product 5 stars:
  • Silky, thick human hair, which is easy to style and clean
  • Well woven wefts with easy to handle clips
  • Holds color very well when dying
  • Fast delivery & nice packaging

TO CUT OR NOT TO CUT, THAT IS THE QUESTION
I have used extensions before that came in a maximum of 18 inches so it was refreshing to have the option for longer--24 inches is so great for me!  If your hair is shorter, you should consider having a hair stylist cut the extensions (while they are in your hair) and/or layer your hair and the extensions.  You just always want the extensions to blend and not have a definite cut off of where your own hair ends.  Irresistible Me offers different length options for purchase, but if you decide to cut your extensions, I do recommend that you have a salon hair specialist cut the hair so that you don't make a costly mistake.

COLORING 101
Irresistible Me has a very good array of colors to choose from.  In reviewing the colors offered by the company, I determined that my hair is between the Royal Medium Brown and the Royal Light Brown.  Since I knew that I'd be dying the extensions to match my hair color, I ordered the Royal Ash Blonde, because it is critical to order lighter than your own color if you are going to dye the extensions.  Hair extensions take on darker dye, but due to special processing, most extensions will not easily lighten.  Also, some beauty supply clerks might recommend a 10 developer to help the color grab.  I find that 20 works best, allowing some lighter colors to stay for a more natural look, adding depth.  Also, you might get advice to go warm or go cool, etc., but it is my opinion that you match your hair color perfectly.  Take the beauty supply store's hair dye sample card and compare it to your own hair outside to see if the colors match in natural lighting.  Lastly, a beauty supply clerk might tell you to use semi-permanent dye.  I find that permanent dye works best, coloring for 25 minutes instead of 30--but check the color and see if you need to go the full 30.  Of course, I'd never want you to go wrong, so it is important to try dying a small area of the hair extension to see how the color dye you selected works.  If you've never colored hair, the ideal process is to have a salon hair color specialist match the extensions to your hair color, especially if you have low lights or highlights.  A professional stylist will know how to mix the starting color of the extensions with a color dye to match your hair color.  Irresistible Me also has a custom color matching option available, but I did not use it and can't give that particular service a rating.

SHAMPOO YOUR DO
If you are lucky enough to have the original product from Irresistible Me match your hair color, you will still need to eventually wash the hair extensions.  Remember that you will want to use a quality shampoo.  Sulfates in high quantities, which are often found in less expensive shampoos, can strip both color and natural oils while silicone dries out hair; thus, I highly recommend using an organic, all natural shampoo.  I used Acure shampoo and conditioner with argan oil, which is supposed to heal and hydrate the hair.  Acure can be purchased at many health food stores.  So, of course, after dying the extensions, I gently washed and rinsed them (twice), then conditioned them, and rinsed them again in cool water until the water was clear.  After a  thorough air dry (or blow dry on cool setting if you are in a hurry) and a careful straightening, I was ready to show my new locks.

I definitely recommend these hair extensions :) Xoxo, Shelly

Beauty: Neutrogena Review

Because I test and write reviews about different beauty products from skin care to makeup, many of you have emailed me to ask what I use on a daily basis to keep my skin clear.  I have been a Neutrogena fan for years.  In high school, Neutrogena was a life saver or rather a face saver.  To this day, I use Neutrogena products on a regular basis before bed to keep my face clear and radiant.  I alternate between the Oil-Free Acne Wash, Rapid Clear, and the Oil-Free Acne Stress Control products.  I was very excited when the company contacted me to try their Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit products!

Results:  A+
Packaging:  A+
Smell:  A+ (Strong but good)

Like the other Neutrogena products I use, the Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit line works!  I have read other reviews in which people say due to the scent, their skin got irritated, but I have very sensitive skin and my skin didn't react negatively at all.  In fact, my skin is clean, clear, and smelling lovely.  I felt a blemish starting, but after washing my face with Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit products that night, it was stopped in its tracks and vanished.  I definitely recommend this Neutrogena line to anyone looking for a gentle yet effective face cleansing regime.

Beauty: Enza Essentials Review

Over the last month, I have been testing out a new-to-me skin care regime provided by Enza Essentials.  The first step of the process included a questionnaire of what skin type I have, what my skin goes through, and my what lifestyle entails such as stressors and activities.  First, I tried their Extraction System which targeted oily skin.  My skin may be shiny; however, it's also very sensitive, so the Extraction System was a little too aggressive and made me dry out.  The next system I tried was their Complete Sustaining System, which included Sustaining Glow Crème, Hydra Gel,  Cool Sustaining Toner, Fine Facial Polish, Sustaining Cleanser, and Advanced Protection SPF 30.

Now, the moment you've all been waiting for, my review ;)

Customer Service:  A+

After finding my skin was too sensitive for the Extraction System, the customer service was very knowledgeable and understanding.  They immediately sent me the Sustaining System to try instead.

Packaging/Appearance:  A+

Each package was wrapped professionally and included a folder with medical facts, detailed suggestions, and personalized instructions on how to follow the regime for best results.  Very helpful!

Results:  A

Under the circumstances of a very stressful couple of weeks with school starting back up, t.o.m. visiting, and getting a new puppy, the Enza Essentials Sustaining System did a great job.  I got through all three major stressors with only a few blemishes to count.  If I had to pick a favorite product out of the system, it would be a tie between the cleanser and the fine facial polish because I love them both!  I have seen a change in my skin to be honest with an evening out of the tone and my skin feels smoother.

Overall, I give Enza Essentials an A+! If you're in the market for some new skin care products, be sure to check out www.enza.com and use promo code "ARIZONAGIRL" to get 40% off of your purchase through 9/30/14!

Product Review: Sunset 45's "The Little Luxuries Box"

This month I had the privilege of collaborating with Sunset 45 and reviewing their June "Little Luxuries Box".  The Little Luxuries Box is a box filled with fashion and beauty products worth $100+ that arrives at your doorstep once a month for a subscription price of only $30/mo plus $5 shipping.  Each month's box is different and unique.  I was so excited with the June 2014 box I received, which was inspired by one of the latest runway trends: tribal.

The box included a gorgeous "Nona" necklace, "Jinji" earrings, OPI Nail Lacquer in "Dating a Royal", NYX Butter Lipstick in "Hot Tamale", Hello Waffle blush and coupon, and 7th Heaven Naturals mask!  WOW, right?  It definitely made my day when my box arrived.  The necklace and earrings are truly beautiful pieces of jewelry and great quality.  I am excited to style the necklace in an upcoming post; if you keep scrolling you will see how I styled the earrings, lipstick, nail polish, and blush.  The nail polish color is a bold royal blue and looks great with just two coats.  The lipstick is one of my faves from the box!  The bright orange color is a new addition to my lipstick collection and feels soft on the lips.  The blush is a sweet, light pink that applies nicely on the cheeks and creates a perfect tint of color.  Last but not least, the mask was wonderful.  As a blogger, I am very consistent and careful with my skincare.  I enjoyed trying the new mask.  It didn't irritate my skin (which is rare because I have very sensitive skin) and my face felt very smooth after.

Overall, I give Sunset 45's "The Little Luxuries Box" an A+!  The products are of true quality and the customer service is so friendly.  The packaging and presentation were professional and appealing. If you are thinking of subscribing or want to purchase a box for one month to try it out, click here.  I always love receiving goodies in the mail, so if you're like me, you'll LOVE what Sunset 45 offers.

Product Review: Love, Charlotte XO

Perfume:  Love, Charlotte XO
By:  Charlotte Russe
Grade:  A+

Looking for a sweet, light perfume that lasts all day?  I definitely recommend Love, Charlotte XO.  The scent is amazing, the price is reasonable, and the appearance is beautiful.  The packaging is a light pink box with metallic-silver detailing, while the bottle is a light pink glass with a heart shape on the back, finished with a little black ribbon around the top.  The overall appearance is classy and feminine.  Charlotte Russe describes their new  perfume as an "enticing floral and exotic scent featuring notes of pink grapefruit, tiger lily and exotic woods for an enchanting evening."  If you haven't started your holiday wish list yet, this would be the perfect first item.  You can find the perfume at CharlotteRusse.com
