My Style: Desert Daze

have grown to love the beauty of the desert.  Because of die-hard Coachella fans, I know that Indio and Palm Springs, California, have received much acclaim over the last few years; however, I especially enjoy Tucson and Scottsdale, Arizona, for the amazing fauna, the colorful sunsets, and the quiet, stark hills.  Cue in quiet, calming music and then stop with a screech.  Let's be honest, I do love nature but I also like the luxury resorts, the world class golf courses, the exquisite shopping, the outstanding art museums, the night clubs, etc.  I just had to be real with you, my lovely readers. This particular photo shoot was taken in Tucson where I spent time last month at two great resorts--the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort and the Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa.  For a luncheon with friends, I wore this black lace, maxi skirt that has a beautifully embroidered waistband.  I searched for the perfect top to complement the skirt and found this ideal ivory, textured halter top.  To bring the colors together, I wore an ivory, embroidered, round purse and flat, black sandals.  Highlighting the colors in the waistband, I wore pretty rings in blue and black and nail polish in a light turquoise green.  I'm not usually bold enough to wear a bare-back, halter top but I felt in the heat of the desert and coupled with a delicate lace maxi skirt that the styling was alluring but classy.  I hope you agree :)  Xoxo, Shelly

My Style: Tucson in July

Tucson in July is beautiful with flowering cacti, monsoon rains, and gorgeous sunsets.  To tour the area at dusk, I wore a distressed denim skirt and a black, cropped graphic tee.   I know some of you might not like the return of denim skirts, but they are on trend for both summer and fall.  Personally, I love them, because I find them so versatile--you can dress them up for a night out or dress them down for a casual day.  Add a fringed backpack, ankle booties, and a floppy hat to a denim skirt outfit, and you've created the perfect boho-western styling.  To complete the accessorizing details, I selected round sunnies, a mixed metal necklace, mixed metal rings, and a copper bracelet.    Hope you like these style ideas and have a fun-filled weekend!  Xoxo, Shelly

Boutique Review: Immediate Fashion Company

Over the summer, I had fun traveling to Tucson, Arizona.  While I was there, I visited one of the stores I collaborate with called Immediate Fashion Company.  Of course to a fashion blogger, a clothing boutique is like a candy store to a kid--totally awesome!  The boutique is about 2 minutes from the University of Arizona; I recommend that the college students check out the store :)  They carry trendy clothing for men, women, & kids.  For my readers not located in Arizona or California, you can visit their online store: here.  I just thought I'd let my Tucson friends know about the new store opening.  Enjoy!  Also, I don't know about you, but school started up for me again today - which totally calls for retail therapy!  If you need me, I will be shopping.  Xoxo, Shelly
