My Style: Nature of Nevada

N
orthern Nevada is full of beautiful surprises from expansive vistas with magnificent sunsets to running streams sheltered by quaking aspens.  I am enjoying my Father's Day weekend adventure to visit my grandparents, appreciating not only the nature around me but also my grandmother's Native American jewelry collection.  My family has been collecting exquisite Navajo and Zuni jewelry since the 1940s.  Today, I chose to wear a silver and turquoise ring and squash blossom necklace.  I love layering necklaces so I added a shorter silver, tiered necklace. I selected the jewelry to wear with my gorgeous Bali Summer Embroidered Maxi Dress by Chicwish.  The dress has delicate grey embroidery, a deep V-shaped neckline, bell sleeves, and a high-low hemline, all adding to its beauty. Of course, I added my round sunnies, a wide-brimmed hat, and buckle strapped booties.

Now, I have to tell you some of the funny, behind-the-scene stories that occur for bloggers.  I know many of you might think that blogging is easy and done with a few quickly snapped photos.  Au contraire!  In the photo where I'm standing in a golden field with blue sagebrush behind me, we were chased off by an angry bull--we literally had to run to the truck and high tail it out of there.  The photo where I'm standing in water took about 30 tries to get just the right lighting and background, meanwhile my feet went completely numb in the ice water--I had to be helped out of the stream because I couldn't feel my feet.  Thus, I want to let you know that I care so much to bring you quality photos with a variety of settings for your viewing pleasure.  You are worth it :)  Xoxo, Shelly
